Prolonged outdoor exposure can lead to eye damage from ultraviolet (UV) rays and glare, which are reflections from surfaces like water that can contribute to vision issues such as cataracts. To mitigate these risks, invest in sunglasses that are designed to filter out excessive UV rays and glare. When selecting sunglasses, seek out those marked with “UV400” for guaranteed protection, and consider polarized lenses for better visibility in bright light conditions.


For those who rely on prescription glasses for vision correction, the prospect of wearing additional sunglasses might seem inconvenient. Transition lenses may not always provide the necessary polarization, and they can take time to adjust to light changes. A practical solution is to opt for prescription sunglasses, which combine the convenience of a single pair of glasses with the benefits of sun protection. Outdoor activities can lead to excessive sweating, especially in hot weather.
